Well Denise did it again! She has been working for weeks and today is the day were all my friend came out with there raisers and tested their Obedience skills and their raisers puzzle solving skills in a Obedience Digital Challenge (you may of read about it from Blitz and Camry). Denise had the teams running around Woodland Hills – Warner Center finding signs with commands (sit, stay, come, down, ect…) then add in two obedience stops, four quests (puzzles). Denise sent them on a bus ride where they had to place some cropped photos of art work at each station in order. Another quest (as one of the raiser says she does not want to see another Mall Directory again) is where you solve a soduku which sent you to the mall directory to finish the puzzle. At the end of the game we meet at the Mall food court were we had a turn in party for Wissel, Watcher, and “W” Rose. It was a good day. Who knows Denise might do another one!!!

What is the Ventura Obedience Challenge

Ventura Obedience Digital Challenge is a fun team based competition it is part scavenger hunt, part trivia challenge, and of course obedience stops. You must find the answers to the clues by exploring Downtown Ventura. The Ventura Obedience Challenge format, teams of two to three puppies (6 months or older) and their raisers solve a collection of puzzle-based “quests” and earn points for each correct answer. The quest book will also tell you where your next obedience challenge is, this is where you earn more points. In addition to the core quests of the game, teams are given EyeSpy photos and are directed to identify the mystery pictures taken around downtown Ventura and digitally photograph it. After the game we are planning a noon picnic award ceremony at Emma Woods, were the top five teams will receive their prizes. The Route is a loop of 2 ¼ miles around the River Walk, Beach Promenade, Pier, and Downtown Ventura. Game running time is to be about 3 hours.

Well the Ventura Obedience Challenge (a digital scavenger hunt) was today. Denise had a good turn out of 11 of my puppy in training friends from the Ventura and Sylmar groups with their raisers all came to play. After the first obedience Challange of sit stays and earn them their first set of points; the four teams received their quest booklets with five Quests, twenty four EyeSpys and one Bonus Quest; in addition to three obedience stops along a 2 ½ mile walk in old historic downtown Ventura. I can’t wait to see what Denise has in store for next years Challenge she is thinking maybe Westlake Village or Warner Center (Woodland Hills).

In team #4 Walden impressed us all with his perfect comes for his handler Chiapas helping earn his team 5/5 to make their final score 12/15 points at the obedience stop “COME”.

By the time team #3 came to obedience stop “DOWN STAY” they were ready to have a 3 min. break and earning 15/15 point; while their raisers found two EyeSpys in that area.

Now team #2 which I was on, were the only team to figure out how to read Quest One thanks to the very bright Kasey. Then I embarrassed Denise at the “COME” obedience stop by playing with the long line instead of coming to Terri.

The winners of the day team #1 found the most EyeSpys and correctly answered quests plus they were one of the two teams that climbed and climbed and climbed up the stairs Valdez Ally to find “El Caballo” the horse. And they scored well in the Obedience challenges.
