Denise looked out the front window of the office this morning and saw all the construction workers running out of the building by foot and car then we heard the sirens of the fire truck but we did not think anything of this as Kaiser Permanente is also right across the street and we hear sirens all the time just though someone was hurt on the construction site. Instead of just one or two fire truck coming slowly down the down the street there was five then six flying to a stop in front of the building with the firemen jumping out and grabbing hoses from the back and sirens of more truck coming. So we walked out of the office and saw this huge black smoke coming from the building and this explained why all the construction worker were hanging out on the front lawn of our office building helicopters, news crews and tons of people standing around out side. The fire was put out in an hour but the fire truck and crew did not leave for another four to five hours later. From what we heard the fire was started by welding sparks that got a way from the "fire watch" (worker with a fire extingisher). But during all this noise Denise says I was a very very good girl and did not have any problems with the noise that I just laid down and took a nap while she was watching what was happening.

  1. Oh my goodness - what an exciting day! I remember when Nutmeg and I got pulled from a 4th story window on that large ladder truck. Neat to see it from the other side! What a great training experience!

  5. Wow, Denise, you know what I just realized?? That is my dad's jobsite! When we got home from Germany my dad told me that his jobsite had caught on fire, and I remembered that you work just across the street from the site...Wow, so ya, my dad is really busy with job stuff right now, because he's the construction engineer.
